We had another fun-filled, high-energy meeting last night! There were many new faces in the crowd as we opened the night with the theme: “What’s Your Brand?”

Have you ever thought about what your personal brand is? Everyone has one whether they realize it or not. Consistency and authenticity are what make any brand powerful and as leaders, it’s important to know what we stand for and what we choose to speak about. I personally think that’s the great thing about Toastmasters - we can do soul searching and speak about topics we’re passionate about, as well as hear what others have to share with us.

This week, we heard three amazing speeches. Valerie completed her 10th speech by talking about the power of global unity through a quirky dance phenomenon. (See the viral videos that inspired her theme: http://www.wheretheheckismatt.com/) Lisa coined perhaps the most memorable line of the night “Who can say ‘No’ to Jyo?” in her High Performance Leadership Program speech, in which she empowers us to enter in the next Toastmasters contest (because who can say no to Lisa?). And finally, Ven told us an engaging story of his dangerous skiing adventure down a high mountain in Canada for his bonus speech. After a creative, fortune cookie-themed Tabletopics session and some great evaluations, we concluded the meeting with another open forum to give members the chance to tell us what the brand of Preston Persuaders means to them.

We had a lot of laughs and a lot fun last night. I hope that they will give you momentum for the week, and look forward to seeing you all again next Monday!
