Welcome to a new year of Preston Persuaders!

Our theme this Monday night was quite fitting for a new beginning - “Airports”. We know airports to be places of welcomes and goodbyes, where we say hello to new exciting destinations, or goodbye to old friends as we start new chapters of our lives. I personally think of airports as centers of exchange. Different people from different places of different backgrounds all coming together in one place to travel somewhere important to them. In a way, we are all passengers on the flight of life - what we share with each other is not the destination, but the journey.

This Monday, we heard three wonderful speeches – Marie spoke of her desire to extend kindness to strangers in need, Geri spoke of the power of loving oneself, and Priti motivated us all to keep moving forward even when life knocks us down. Each speech was inspirational and deeply personal. At the end of the night, the room buzzed with excitement as we inducted our new officers for the year and presented each with his or her duties and certificate. As a first-term officer, I hope that together we’ll be able to create an even better club for all of us. I’m excited to start this journey with you to our next destination of personal growth.

Sit back and enjoy the flight!
