September 26th Meeting

September 27, 2011

What an enjoyable meeting that was! If you missed tonight, you missed what might be referred to as a "humdinger". Bryan opened with a very insightful invocation, and Jyo, our Toastmaster of the evening, enlightened us as to all the amazing events that have taken place throughout American history this week. Thanush, our Table Topics Master, followed along the same theme and challenged our Table Topics participants to excel as they thought on their feet. Our General Evaluator, Raghu, and our evaluators, Tanya and Sanju, provided truly thoughtful feedback for all our meeting participants. Phoebe delighted us with her American adventures during her Ice Breaker speech, and Rick (also known as City Manager Javier!) handled potentially hostile members of the audience during his Q&A with ease and confidence. In an educational module speech, I shared a few ways to become involved in Toastmasters beyond the club level. Our two guests, Guy and Max, also enjoyed the evening, especially our quality evaluations! On a bittersweet note, this evening was Jennifer's last meeting before she travels to Florida and take on a new chapter in her career. Jennifer, you will be missed… and thank you for all the Chick-Fil-A! It was delish! (I promise we will miss you for much, much more than the food!) And last, but never least, Doris and Thanush showed off their brand new (and very lovely!) trophies to well-deserved applause! All in all, another Monday very well spent!
