Our Club Contest!

The only word I have for how our contest went last night is "Wow!" Our Tall Tales speakers (Matt and Thanush) spun wild tales about Internet plumbers and alien origins that made us laugh through our doubt. Not to be outdone, our Humorous speakers (Raghu, Susan, and Doris) humorously lamented the poor availability of fruits and veggies, frustrating pet peeves, and lessons learned from a friend's search for the perfect man, and had us rolling in the aisles. Thanush won 1st place in the Tall Tales contest, Susan placed 2nd in the Humorous Speech contest, and Doris took 1st in the Humorous Speech contest!! Hearty congratulations to Thanush, Susan, and Doris, and also to all of our contest participants and helpers! Each of you are to be commended for throwing your hat into the ring and for being such stupendous role models for your fellow Toastmasters! :-) As for the food... wow! Lots of members chipped in by bringing food for all to share, and everyone did a smashing job in helping the exhausted contest chair clean up afterwards. And last, but never least, we were assisted by four judges and one chief judge that were not members of Preston Persuaders, which gave our competitors some new faces to look upon!
